The Food Safety Department requested the above units to coordinate with local authorities to inspect and review product self-declaration records, recall all fake MSG products circulating on the market, and coordinate with the police to handle violations according to the law. The Phu Tho Department of Health was requested to strengthen recommendations for people and collective kitchens not to use MSG products of Famimoto Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Previously, Phu Tho Provincial Police urgently inspected the company's factory and warehouse, discovered and temporarily seized more than 71,000 liters of cooking oil, about 40 tons of MSG, 22 tons of seasoning powder, 9 tons of fake seasoning powder, along with nearly 84 tons of food additives and nearly 1.6 million packaging shells and plastic cans containing products. All of the goods were produced using on-site decanting and packaging lines.
The investigation agency determined that Famimoto Vietnam Co., Ltd. had sold about 144 tons of cooking oil, 118 tons of seasoning powder and 363 tons of fake seasoning powder to the market. Notably, most of the fake products were put into kitchens in industrial zones, posing a serious risk to consumers' health.
