Attracting 600 athletes to participate in Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025

At a press conference on May 15 in Hanoi, journalist Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Radio and Television, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025, said that Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton. Although it has just entered Vietnam, Pickleball has developed rapidly and is a favorite sport of many people, especially those working in office environments. The rapid development of this sport has created a strong and diverse Pickleball community, from beginners to professional athletes.

The Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025 will officially take place on June 14-15 at the Pickleball Court Complex, Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of Cau Giay District, Hanoi. The tournament is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners legally living, working and traveling in Vietnam.

The organizers said that the tournament brings together a team of prestigious and professional referees, along with diverse competition content. The amateur tournament is for low and medium level athletes, including the following contents: Men's Doubles - Women's Doubles - Mixed Doubles. The professional tournament has 2 contents: Men's Doubles - Mixed Doubles. Each pair of athletes can participate in a maximum of 2 contents. Notably, within the framework of the Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025, there will be matches between artists, actors, and celebrities in the entertainment industry.

The Organizing Committee also noted that professional athletes are not allowed to register to compete in the amateur tournament. If they intentionally compete, the Organizing Committee will detect and disqualify them from the tournament. All matches will be broadcast live on TV, radio and digital platforms of Hanoi Radio. It is expected that about 600 athletes will participate in the competition. The total prize value of the tournament is nearly 500 million VND, including cash and gifts.
