- On May 8 and 9, the Provincial Police coordinated with GeneStory Company (DNA sample collection unit) to establish 3 working groups to collect DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province.
Accordingly, the working groups have organized the collection of DNA samples for relatives of 36 martyrs whose identities have not been determined, and whose graves and remains have not been identified. The locations for collecting DNA samples for relatives were concentrated at the Provincial Police Infirmary, the old Van Quan District Police Station, and organized on a mobile basis at the families of martyrs' relatives in the districts of Chi Lang, Huu Lung, Binh Gia, Bac Son, Trang Dinh, Van Lang, Van Quan, Loc Binh, Dinh Lap and Lang Son city.
Specifically, members of the working groups, including officers from the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, the Provincial Police and representatives of the DNA sampling unit, took fingerprints, photos, blood samples, and scanned ID cards to compare personal information of relatives of martyrs, with a total of 70 cases.
This is an important political task carried out according to the plan of the Ministry of Public Security on the collection of DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs and the plan of the People's Committee of Lang Son province on the implementation of the task of identifying the remains of martyrs with missing information in the province. This demonstrates the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
