On the afternoon of August 27, after the meeting with NSMO, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long visited and encouraged NSMO workers.

On the afternoon of August 27, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long (second from left) and representatives of leaders of several Departments, Divisions and Institutes under the Ministry of Industry and Trade had a working session with the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company (NSMO) (formerly the National Electricity System Dispatch Center). After the meeting, the Deputy Minister directly visited and encouraged NSMO workers.

Talking to NSMO workers, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his support for technologies that can integrate artificial intelligence to improve productivity and work quality.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long affirmed that the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Departments, Divisions and Institutes under the Ministry will always accompany and support the company to ensure the safety and security of the national power system. At the same time, NSMO is an indispensable part in the review and adjustment of the Power Plan VIII.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long listened to the introduction and monitored the performance of technologies at the control center.

NSMO General Director Nguyen Duc Ninh said that NSMO's core tasks are to establish methods and command and operate the electricity production, transmission and distribution system; operate transactions in the Vietnamese electricity market; and manage and operate technological systems.

In addition to the tasks performed at the request of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), NSMO has also performed a number of tasks requested by the Ministry of Industry and Trade such as providing comments on draft national electricity plans, providing comments on electricity import policies, and assessing the possibility of clearing renewable energy projects.

In the coming period, NSMO will proactively coordinate closely with the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy to perform tasks related to electricity planning as required by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In the 2024-2030 period, NSMO will continue to implement 24 projects with a total investment of nearly VND 4,700 billion. Currently, NSMO is preparing to invest in 5 projects related to upgrading infrastructure to meet the requirements of operating the national power system and electricity market with a total investment of VND 700 billion.
