EVNCPC has identified its core task as ensuring continuous and safe power supply to customers, while minimizing damage caused by storms. The EVNCPC Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has reviewed flood response plans and requested its subordinate units to immediately deploy specific measures.
Measures include: Strengthening the clearance of the corridor, coordinating with local authorities to cut and trim trees at risk of falling; checking and reinforcing headquarters, warehouses, factories, 110kV transformer stations, intermediate stations and rooftop solar power systems. Units arrange forces to be on duty 24/24, and supplies, equipment and spare vehicles are fully prepared to promptly handle incidents. At the same time, units check telecommunications, dispatching and IT infrastructure to ensure continuous communication in stormy conditions.
For hydropower plants, EVNCPC requires strict compliance with inter-reservoir and single-reservoir operating procedures, proper implementation of local government regulations and ensuring dam safety. Project management units review construction sites, move equipment, cover materials and arrange storm-resistant personnel.
Deputy General Director, Head of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of EVNCPC Nguyen Huu Khanh emphasized that preparations for responding to storm No. 12, accompanied by exceptionally heavy rain in the Central region from Quang Tri to Gia Lai , must be carried out thoroughly to minimize damage and ensure the safety of officers and employees. He requested units to absolutely not be subjective, strictly implement the "four on-site" motto, monitor the water level of important rivers and streams, reinforce transformer stations, power poles, power lines and arrange forces to be on duty 24/24.
EVNCPC also requested units to closely coordinate with local authorities in overcoming consequences, while strengthening propaganda and guiding people to use electricity safely during the storm season, contributing to ensuring safety of life, property and stable operation of the power system in the Central Highlands - Central region.
Localities such as Da Nang also requested the Da Nang Electricity Company to closely monitor the development of floods to promptly cut off power in deeply flooded areas, while ensuring power supply to anti-flood pumping stations.
