On the afternoon of July 15, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu received Mr. Wei Ran, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, who is on a working visit to Vietnam from July 14-17.

At the reception, the Deputy Minister highly appreciated the visit and work in Vietnam of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Deputy Minister said that the visit is of great significance, taking place in the context of the positive development of the relationship between the two countries, especially after the historic visit to Vietnam by General Secretary andPresident of China Xi Jinping last May, as well as this year, the two countries are carrying out many exciting activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange.

The leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs believe that the working trip has made an important contribution to implementing the results of the extremely successful visit to Vietnam by Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee Chen Gang in February this year.

The two sides agreed that the relationship between Vietnamese and Guangxi localities has achieved very important and encouraging results, such as exchanges between local party agencies continuing to be maintained and strengthened, and the level of political trust is increasingly high; economic and trade cooperation continues to be a bright spot; land border management work has been closely coordinated; border traffic connection has achieved many positive results, and people-to-people exchanges, cultural, educational and tourism cooperation have made much progress.

Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office Wei Ran agreed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to maintain regular visits and contacts between leaders of border localities, in order to enhance mutual understanding and trust, thereby helping to strengthen the friendship between the two sides. Along with that, they will continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of practical and mutually beneficial cooperation.

In particular, Mr. Wei Ran hopes to welcome Vietnamese leaders to attend the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held in September, and hopes that the two sides will accelerate hard connections on high-speed railways and expressways, promote infrastructure connections at border gates; upgrade soft connections on smart customs, and accelerate the implementation of a pilot smart gate model at the Huu Nghi-Huu Nghi Quan border gate area.

Leaders of both sides believe that with the good foundation of cooperation, exchanges and cooperation in various fields between ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Guangxi will have many new breakthroughs in the coming time, bringing practical benefits to people of both sides, making practical contributions to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China.
