Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan runs Viet Duc Friendship Hospital

Information from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital said that Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health has just been assigned to concurrently take charge of and operate Viet Duc Hospital according to the assignment of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health and the Minister of Health.

Previously, Professor, Dr. Tran Binh Giang, Director of this hospital, retired according to the regime.

Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan is currently one of the five Deputy Ministers of Health . He is also Vice Chairman in charge of the National Medical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Health Protection and Care Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Medical Association.

Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan is former President of Vietnam Young Physicians Association, former Head of Oncology Department , Hanoi Medical University.

Before becoming Deputy Minister of Health in May 2020, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan was Director of K Hospital. This is the leading specialized facility in the country in the North in cancer prevention and treatment.

Viet Duc Hospital is a large surgical facility and one of the special hospitals of the Ministry of Health. Each year, this medical facility performs surgery for about 70,000-80,000 cases of severe, emergency and other specialized patients. This is also one of the medical facilities that deploys and masters many advanced techniques in organ transplantation.
