On June 3, after landing at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi), the Australian Prime Minister had a number of sideline activities within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam (from June 3-4).
"Vietnam and Australia move forward," Mr Albanese wrote on Twitter along with pictures of drinking draft beer and eating banh mi in Hanoi.
Mr Albanese also expressed his delight that many beers in Vietnam, as well as bread, are made with Australian barley.

According to the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, on the same day, Prime Minister Albanese also had other activities such as visiting RMIT University, the first Australian university in Vietnam, where he attended the opening of RMIT University's new Hanoi Innovation and Industry Center.
“My first official visit to Vietnam is an opportunity to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations and agree on many new areas of economic, trade and other cooperation to promote stronger relations between the two countries in the future,” the Prime Minister shared.
During the visit, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Australian delegation will lay wreaths and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; attend the official welcoming ceremony; hold talks; exchange documents; meet the press; meet with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; visit and interact with the Australian and Vietnamese women's football teams with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; and attend an official reception.
