According to Australian news agency ABC News , the talks will be an opportunity for Prime Minister Albanese to address China's recent intercontinental ballistic missile test in the Pacific , as well as Canberra's concerns about security and trade.

According to China's Xinhua news agency, during the meeting, Prime Minister Li Qiang affirmed that China is ready to cooperate with Australia to safeguard peace and stability in the Asia- Pacific region through concrete actions.

Assessing recent bilateral relations, Li Qiang stated that the two countries have made solid progress, with practical cooperation gradually developing in many fields, along with increasingly vibrant exchanges between localities and people.

According to the Chinese Prime Minister, these developments show a promising future for Beijing-Canberra relations, provided both sides continue to strive towards common goals.

Noting that the nature of bilateral relations is mutually beneficial cooperation, Chinese government leaders emphasized that Beijing is ready to strengthen exchanges with Canberra on macroeconomic policies, expand cooperation in trade and investment, green growth, scientific and technological innovation, and many other areas, in order to promote the common development of both countries.

For his part, after the talks concluded, Australian Prime Minister Albanese posted on social media that it was "an important meeting as we continue to stabilize our relationship with China."

He also announced, clarifying: "The government has made efforts to remove trade barriers, and we have agreed on a timetable to fully restore lobster trading by the end of this year, in time for the Lunar New Year."

This move signals the end of the politically motivated trade war between the two countries. The leader also affirmed that dialogue is the way to "resolve differences and develop areas of cooperation without compromising any of Australia's interests."
