The first ever Vietnamese Pho Day in Bulgaria was a lively and exciting event.

On December 12th, at the Serdika Center shopping mall (Sofia), the Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria, in collaboration with Thang Long Restaurant, organized the Vietnamese Pho Day event with the theme "Elevating Vietnamese Rice - Spreading to Five Continents".

The event attracted a large number of guests, including ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, leaders of ministries and departments, businesses, media, and Bulgarian friends. This was the first time Vietnamese Pho Day was held in Bulgaria.

Set against the backdrop of Christmas colors in the heart of Sofia, the Vietnamese Pho Day event offered attendees a unique and heartwarming cultural exchange experience.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her delight in welcoming numerous Bulgarian and international friends to discover and experience Pho, one of Vietnam's most iconic and beloved dishes; emphasizing that Pho is not just a dish but also the flavor of the homeland, a symbol of the Vietnamese culinary soul.

The ambassador shared insights into the subtleties of Pho, a seemingly simple dish that nonetheless requires patience and harmony in every step of its preparation.

The Ambassador affirmed that this is not only an event to promote Vietnamese cuisine, but also a cultural bridge connecting Vietnam with international friends; he hoped that the Vietnamese Pho Day in Sofia would contribute to further deepening friendship and promoting cultural exchange and tourism between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

The highlight of the event was a demonstration of the preparation process and a tasting of beef pho prepared by chefs from Thang Long Restaurant in the authentic Hanoi style.

Guests were particularly delighted to witness firsthand the exquisite and harmonious presentation of the ingredients, showcasing their colors and flavors.

Leaders of Bulgarian ministries and departments, ambassadors, and local friends described the event as "a wonderful opportunity to better understand Vietnamese culture through traditional cuisine."

Most guests who tried pho for the first time expressed surprise at its flavor.

As part of the event, attendees were invited to sample Vietnamese coffee.

Concluding the event, attendees not only took home the flavors of authentic Vietnamese cuisine but also gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for Vietnamese culture. The Vietnamese Pho Day on December 12th in Sofia truly spread the message "Elevating Vietnamese rice – Spreading across the globe," bringing Vietnamese cuisine closer to the people of Bulgaria and international friends.
