Both sides have accused the other of initiating the attack. This week's unrest has left at least 20 people dead and more than 260 injured, according to statistics from both countries.
Thai Defense Ministry spokesman Surasant Kongsiri said on Thursday that recent border clashes with Cambodia had killed nine Thai soldiers, injured more than 120, and forced nearly 200,000 Thai civilians to evacuate.
As of Friday afternoon local time, the number of Cambodians evacuated from the border conflict zone had risen to over 300,000, according to a press release from the Cambodian Ministry of Interior.
