Prime Minister attends groundbreaking ceremony of Him Lam Resistance Center relic conservation and restoration project

Dien Bien TV - Continuing the working program in Dien Bien province, on the afternoon of April 17, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Project to Preserve and Restore the Him Lam Resistance Center Relics Phase 2 and install street nameplates to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Attending the program were comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front ; representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries, branches and agencies.

On the side of Dien Bien province, there were comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Mua A Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and localities; representatives of Dien Bien soldiers and youth volunteers participating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the Him Lam Resistance Center Relic Conservation and Restoration Project, Phase 2.

At the ceremony, comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the implementation process of the investment project to construct the project: Preservation and restoration of the Him Lam Resistance Center relic.

Accordingly, the People's Council of Dien Bien province approved the investment policy in Resolution No. 156 dated November 3, 2023 with the main items including: Relief, Incense House; renovation and repair items including: embankments, embellishment and renovation of concrete roads leading to 3 bases; making steps up and down, incense offering yard, square yard... The total investment of the project is 90 billion VND from the Central Budget for the period 2021-2025 and socialized capital.

After completion and operation, the project will gradually complete the restoration and embellishment of important relics in the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Relic Complex, contributing to preserving the original value of the relic site.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates attended the ceremony to name the road named after the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong.

Along with that, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, Dien Bien province adjusted the starting and ending points of 6 routes and named 39 routes after cultural celebrities, historical figures, historical sites of revolution and resistance, and the names of heroes awarded in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign...

The street naming shows gratitude to the celebrities and heroic martyrs who have made many contributions to the cause of building and defending the country, along with contributing to building Dien Bien Phu city to meet the criteria of a type II urban area, further improving its role as the economic, political and cultural center of the province, and the tourist center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region according to the planning approved by the Prime Minister.

The road named after the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong is a vital traffic route connecting Muong Thanh - Thanh Truong wards of Dien Bien Phu city across the historic Nam Rom river.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and representatives of the delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Him Lam Resistance Center Relic Conservation and Restoration Project Phase 2 and presented gifts to units and organizations that contributed to the implementation of the Project.

Next, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates performed the ceremony of attaching nameplates to a number of streets in Dien Bien Phu city./.
