On the morning of April 19, before attending the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of key national projects and major projects commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, at Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates attended the ceremony to announce the pilot implementation of solutions for applying electronic identification, authentication and biometric recognition to serve check-in procedures.

Also attending were comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, leaders of ministries, branches and localities.

The solution for applying electronic identification, authentication and biometric recognition to serve check-in procedures is chaired by units of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with other units.

Accordingly, the "Aviation Service" feature integrated on the VNeID application allows users with a level 2 electronic identification account to quickly and safely purchase tickets, check-in, go through security control and boarding gates online without contact, just by taking a photo of their face.

Full biometric authentication helps shorten waiting times, especially during peak holiday seasons, thereby improving passenger experience.

Previously, identification document authentication was done manually, which was time-consuming and prone to congestion. With biometric identification technology (eKYC) integrated into VNeID, passengers can travel throughout the journey without having to present documents, thanks to the system automatically comparing the customer's face with data from the national database. This process strictly complies with regulations on personal data protection.
