Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh begins official visit to Brazil

According to the special correspondent of VNA, after more than 10 hours of flying from New York, the United States, at noon on September 23 (local time), the special plane numbered HVN1 carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Sao Paulo International Airport, starting an official visit to the Federative Republic of Brazil from September 23-26, 2023 at the invitation of Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

 

At the airport to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation were representatives of the Sao Paulo state government; the Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam; Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Pham Thi Kim Hoa; embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Brazil.

 

During this visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with Brazilian President Lula da Silva; hold a joint press conference with the Brazilian President and witness the signing ceremony and exchange of cooperation documents between the two countries; meet with leaders of the Brazilian National Assembly; meet with the Brazilian Friendship Congressmen and meet with leaders of several Brazilian political parties and friendship organizations; and meet with leaders of São Paulo state.

 

Along with that, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will visit the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil, meet the Vietnamese community in Brazil, inaugurate a photo exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh, the country and people of Vietnam, attend the Vietnam - Brazil Business Forum; visit and receive leaders of some leading Brazilian enterprises.

 

The visit will open up new directions in promoting cooperation, deepening the Vietnam - Brazil Comprehensive Partnership, identifying specific projects and areas of cooperation, thereby bringing the relationship between the two countries into depth, substance and effectiveness, especially economic, trade and investment cooperation.

 

In particular, Brazil has the potential to be the gateway for Vietnam to enter Latin American markets, while Vietnam is the door for Brazil to enter ASEAN and Asian countries.

 

In addition, emerging areas such as climate change mitigation, new energy development, digital transformation, energy security, food security, etc. are all areas in which the two countries have similar views and can both learn from each other and help each other to solve related problems, take advantage of opportunities, and develop together.
