Offering incense to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic spirit of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed to create the Dien Bien Phu Victory, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation expressed their infinite gratitude to General Vo Nguyen Giap - the legendary general, military genius, excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, the eldest brother, Commander-in-Chief of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, who had many great achievements and made especially outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of our Party and our nation.
The life of General Vo Nguyen Giap is closely linked to the development of the revolution and the important historical milestones of the Party and the nation, especially the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory. The General always set a shining example of revolutionary spirit, creativity in military art, the art of commanding troops, determination to fight and victory, defeating all the enemy's insidious plots and war tricks.
The contributions and sacrifices of the General and the martyrs will forever be recorded in the glorious history of our nation and army as an immortal epic. The delegation vows to unite as one, strive with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to firmly preserve national independence, build a strong and prosperous Vietnam, and make the people increasingly happy and prosperous.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation visited the exhibition booth about the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap, and listened to an introduction to the Muong Phang Historical Site - where the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command worked for 105 days (from January 31 to May 15, 1954). Here and during this time, General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Campaign Command issued decisive instructions and orders, culminating in the general attack on the entire front on May 7, 1954, creating the Dien Bien Phu Victory that resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world.
Meeting and presenting gifts to 20 families of Dien Bien soldiers and policy beneficiaries in Muong Phang and Pa Khoang communes, Dien Bien Phu city, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the people of Muong Phang and Pa Khoang communes and neighboring communes for protecting, caring for, helping, sheltering and supporting the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command.
The Prime Minister affirmed that this is both a responsibility and an emotion, but also a great honor for the Party Committee, government and people of Muong Phang commune; demonstrating the close bond between the army and the people like fish and water, our army comes from the people and serves the people.
Expressing his joy at witnessing the well-invested infrastructure of Muong Phang commune, with many homestay areas built in the commune, the Prime Minister requested Dien Bien province and Dien Bien Phu city to continue to pay attention to and invest in the socio-economic development of Muong Phang commune, contributing to building Dien Bien province and the country to become more and more prosperous and beautiful; hoping that the Party Committee, government and people of Muong Phang commune will continue to promote the revolutionary spirit in protecting and developing the homeland and the country today.
The Prime Minister noted that it is necessary to preserve, embellish and promote the value of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Headquarters Relic Site, thereby contributing to educating patriotism, indomitable will, skillful military art, the fierce nature of the war to defend the country and the arduous sacrifices of our ancestors in the Dien Bien Phu campaign; at the same time, develop historical tourism services, serve socio-economic development; preserve the cultural identity of ethnic groups in the area.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the Muong Phang Commune Education Promotion Fund with 100 million VND to encourage learning and talent, helping students overcome difficulties, gain more motivation and passion for learning to establish themselves, build a career and contribute to building their homeland and country in the future.
