On the evening of November 4, in Hanoi , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 9th National Brand Product Announcement Ceremony in 2024, with the theme "Strengthening into the Green Era".
The event was organized by the National Brand Council in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade , aiming to demonstrate Vietnam's determination in building national, local, industry and business brands in a green and sustainable direction, responding to the strong shifting trend of the world market. The theme of this year's program emphasizes the transformation of the development model towards an environmentally friendly direction, actively contributing to the protection of the green planet and sustainable development. The selection of enterprises achieving the National Brand has been conducted every two years since 2008 with the aim of encouraging enterprises to continue to share and pursue the values ​​of the program, enhancing pride in Vietnamese products. After more than 20 years of formation and development, the Vietnam National Brand Program has affirmed itself as the only specific, long-term trade promotion program of the Government to build the image of Vietnam as a country with prestige in high-quality goods and services, increase the pride and attractiveness of the country and people of Vietnam, contribute to promoting foreign trade development and enhancing national competitiveness. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that building and developing the Vietnamese national brand is a task of special importance, strategic significance, and the mission of all of us with perseverance, effort and relentless creativity; in which building national product brands is one of the core contents. Assessing this as an important event to honor quality and reputable product and service brands, the Prime Minister highly appreciated and warmly congratulated the efforts as well as the important contributions of the Vietnamese business community and enterprises, especially the 190 enterprises whose products achieved the National Brand in 2024.

According to the Prime Minister, over the past 20 years, the National Brand Program has increasingly affirmed itself as one of the prestigious and quality programs. The number of enterprises with products achieving the National Brand has continuously increased over the years, from 30 enterprises in 2008 to 190 enterprises in 2024. The program has affirmed the quality of products and services produced in Vietnam, as well as the capacity, intelligence, bravery, flexibility and creativity of Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to building a solid position in the domestic market and highlighting the two words "Vietnam" in the international market; affirming the great contribution of Vietnamese enterprises in the process of building the National Brand. According to Brand Finance's assessment, in recent years, the Vietnam National Brand has made great strides. Vietnam is not only in the Top 100 countries with strong brands, but also the country with the fastest brand value growth rate in the world in the period 2019-2022. Vietnam's brand value in 2024 is ranked 32nd out of 193 countries assessed, reaching 507 billion USD, up 1 rank and up 2% in value compared to 2023. This is a clear demonstration of the tireless efforts of the business community and entrepreneurs, along with the results of the National Brand Program and the positive impact of the Party and State's mechanisms and policies in creating a business environment, attracting investment, promoting innovation and sustainable development. The Head of Government emphasized that in the context of digital transformation, green transformation, and circular economy is an inevitable trend; The world is gradually shifting from the traditional resource-consuming economic model to the green economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, sharing economy, and night-time economy. Not out of that trend, Vietnamese enterprises with their creativity can take advantage of this opportunity to rise up and play an active role in the global transformation. Therefore, enterprises with their national brands must not only develop traditional business sectors, but also focus on attracting investment and creating momentum for pioneering sectors and fields; not only growth based on capital and resource exploitation as before, but also on science, technology, and innovation; not only promoting and renewing traditional growth drivers but also promoting new growth drivers from the green economy, circular economy, digital economy, knowledge economy, and sharing economy./.
