Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Hien: A shining example in studying and following Uncle Ho

(GLO)- Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Hien - Commander of the Military Command of Kbang district (Gia Lai province) is a typical example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology.

Recently, Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Hien - Commander of the Military Command of Kbang district was one of 32 individuals honored by the Party Committee of Military Region 5 at the conference to summarize and honor advanced models of 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

Talking to us, many officers and soldiers at the Kbang District Military Command always admired the sense of responsibility for work as well as the scientific and methodical lifestyle and working style of Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Hien.

According to many people, in daily life, Lieutenant Colonel Hien always maintained a simple and close lifestyle, behaved sincerely with comrades, teammates, party committees, authorities and local people, taking integrity and impartiality as the motto of a revolutionary soldier.

Lieutenant Colonel Hien shared: “Studying and following Uncle Ho is a lifelong task. I am very honored to be recognized, but I also feel that I must always strive to cultivate, train and contribute more.

Therefore, every week, I keep a diary to learn from Uncle Ho, considering it a “mirror for myself”, from the smallest things such as: behavior, speech, management, command or handling relationships. I always put the collective task first, so I arrive at the office earlier than my teammates and personally arrange the workplace, check the environment before starting work.

Along with that, take advantage of the time to talk, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of officers and soldiers, thereby understanding the difficulties and problems to find solutions together with the unit's command team.

Lieutenant Colonel Hien added: “Clearly defining the role of “the leader must be the initiator and pioneer in innovating methods of studying and following Uncle Ho”, I, along with the Party Committee and unit commanders, constantly think and struggle to find models and methods suitable for the characteristics of the unit in remote areas. The model “One good news every day, one beautiful story every week” stands out. Through models and emulation movements, we have multiplied the determination of cadres and soldiers to work together to successfully complete assigned tasks.”

Accordingly, at every morning newspaper reading session at the Kbang District Military Command, there is a positive news shared such as: soldiers helping people harvest agricultural products; a working group promptly overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; an example of overcoming difficult circumstances to rise up in training; the exciting activities of the entire unit preparing for the training session...

Such information not only creates a positive mindset but also becomes a spiritual support for officers and soldiers to compete and learn from each other; creating a spreading effect on the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of local people and the community on cyberspace.

In particular, the model “A beautiful story every week” was carefully selected from the actual activities of the unit, with specific evidence, presented in the weekly meetings, then posted on social networking sites. Or the model “Setting a good example, doing good deeds” was deployed with the motto “Each cadre is a specific example, each party member is a practical action” has created a widespread spread among the cadres and soldiers of the unit.

With more than 30 years in the military, nearly 7 years as Commander of the Kbang District Military Command, Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Hien and the unit have achieved outstanding achievements. The Kbang District Military Command was awarded 5 emulation flags, 1 title of "Determined to Win" unit, 6 titles of "Exemplary Model" comprehensive strong unit, 20 certificates of merit and many other awards by the Ministry of National Defense , Military Region 5, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee.

In particular, the District Military Command was awarded the flag of an excellent unit in the emulation movement for the period 2019-2024 by the Military Region 5 Command; the Provincial Party Committee awarded a certificate of merit for achieving the standard of "Excellent completion of tasks" for 5 consecutive years (2019-2023).

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Hien was awarded 5 titles of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level by the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 5, Provincial Party Committee, and Provincial People's Committee; 13 certificates of merit and many other awards; and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial Party Committee for excellently completing his tasks for 5 consecutive years (2020-2024).

Evaluating his comrade, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Loc - Political Commissar of the Kbang District Military Command - said: Lieutenant Colonel Hien is an exemplary commander, actively learning and following Uncle Ho, being close to his comrades and teammates, promoting collective intelligence in carrying out assigned tasks. In particular, he is the initiator, together with the unit's leadership, implementing many good models and effective methods to build the district's armed forces increasingly strong.
