Vietnam and ASEAN Trade Office in Saudi Arabia organizes “Amazing ASEAN 2023” week at Lulu supermarket

From September 6 to 12, 2023, the Trade Office of the Embassy of Vietnam and ASEAN countries including Brunei, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Lulu supermarket chain organized a week to promote agricultural products, food, cuisine and the launch ceremony of more than 200 new products from ASEAN countries called "Amazing ASEAN 2023 in the capital Riyadh".

At the opening ceremony, Ambassadors of ASEAN countries, Ambassador of Djibouti, Head of the diplomatic mission in Riyadh, and leaders of Lulu supermarket cut the ribbon and launched new products. This event saw 20 new products introduced to the market by Vietnam, including agricultural products, fresh fruits, processed products from coconut, cashew nuts, seafood, etc. The total value of imported goods from Vietnam in August was 2.44 million USD.

Also at this event, the Vietnamese Embassy promoted the country's image in terms of tourism and cuisine, introduced a list of export products, and selectively introduced some Vietnamese flavors to visitors. Our booth had many visitors coming to learn, get business information, and try the flavors of candy, shrimp chips, cashew nuts, coffee, etc. In general, customers praised the flavors of Vietnamese products and wished for more Vietnamese products in the market.

In the past three years, the Amazing ASEAN event at the Lulu supermarket chain has been a typical activity of ASEAN countries in Saudi Arabia to honor the country's image, promote the culinary culture and products of each ASEAN member country, and at the same time connect businesses and promote exports from the ASEAN region to increasingly diverse and quality markets.

The Saudi Arabian market has a great demand for good quality agricultural and food products such as: fresh fruits, dried fruits, rice, noodles, cashew nuts, confectionery, chocolate, spices, canned foods, fruit juices, cosmetics, garments, shoes, medical equipment, charcoal, etc.

The week of promoting agricultural products, food, cuisine and the ceremony to announce new products from ASEAN countries called: Amazing ASEAN 2023 takes place until September 12, 2023.
