The semi-final match between Vietnam's number 1 female tennis player, Nguyen Thuy Linh (ranked 24th in the world ) and Japanese tennis player, Hina Akechi (ranked 57th) ended quickly in two sets.
In the first set, Thuy Linh started slowly and let the Japanese player score first. However, the bravery of the number 1 female tennis player of Vietnam gradually showed when she scored 3 consecutive points and created a gap of 5-3.
In the middle of the set, Thuy Linh made another 10-point streak and created a gap of 15-5. Although her opponent tried hard, she could not shorten the gap and accepted defeat 11-21.

Thuy Linh entered the Super 300 finals for the third time this year.
In set 2, Thuy Linh, with her rising spirit, scored 4 points in a row to take the lead. Meanwhile, her opponent tried to score each point but could not get ahead even once and lost 17-21.
The 2-0 victory helped Thuy Linh reach the final of a Super 300 tournament for the third time this year after the Canada Open (July) and the German Open (March). Thuy Linh's opponent will be the tournament's number 1 seed, Chiu Pin-Chian (Chinese Taipei, ranked 20th).
Previously, Thuy Linh had defeated two Chinese Taipei players, Han Yu Chen, Hung Yi Ting, and home player Lee So Yul in the semi-finals.
This will be an opportunity for Thuy Linh to break the "curse" of 3 previous runner-up finishes in the Super 300 tournaments in her career.
