Tien Giang: Focus on implementing key traffic projects

In 2025, Tien Giang will continue to focus resources on investing in developing transport infrastructure, especially key projects. Up to now, a number of projects and packages have been completed and put into use, contributing to socio-economic development. Currently, Tien Giang is focusing on implementing key projects to create momentum to promote socio-economic development of the province in the coming time. COMPLETION OF KEY PROJECTS AND PACKAGES

Provincial Road 864 Project (Tien River Road) is a key project of the province, playing an important role in contributing to the socio -economic development of Tien Giang. This is a route connecting 3 economic-urban regions in the province.

Tien Giang has completed Provincial Road 864 Project Phase 1 from National Highway 50 to Provincial Road 877B and Cho Gao Bridge.

According to the Department of Construction of Tien Giang province, the project is about 111.2 km long, including: New construction section of about 36.4 km; upgrading and expanding about 26.3 km and fully utilizing the existing section of about 48.5 km. Phase 1 (2022 - 2027), the project is divided into 2 component projects with a total investment of more than 2,300 billion VND.

Of which, Component Project 1 (section from My Thuan Bridge to Vam Tra Lot Bridge) is about 12 km long, with a total investment of about 126 billion VND. Component Project 2 (section from My Tho City to Den Do, Go Cong Dong District) is about 44 km long, with a total investment of about 2,174 billion VND.

To date, Component 2 of the Project has been completed and put into use the section from National Highway 50 to Provincial Road 877B and Cho Gao Bridge, with a total length of more than 14 km. The completion of Provincial Road 864 Project Phase 1 from National Highway 50 to Provincial Road 877B and Cho Gao Bridge helps complete the Provincial Road 864 Project as well as contribute to completing the road network according to the Tien Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Along with Provincial Road 864 Project, Tien Giang has just completed and put into use Tan Phong Bridge with a total investment of more than 239 billion VND. Tan Phong Bridge crosses Tan Phong Islet connecting Tan Phong Commune, Cai Lay District and Dong Hoa Hiep Commune, Cai Be District.

After completion, the project will help Tan Phong commune to eliminate the island commune status, connect road traffic with the mainland, creating favorable conditions for the circulation and transportation of goods for people. This is a condition to help the commune develop quickly and sustainably, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The project when put into use also helps to gradually complete the traffic network connecting the western districts of the province to National Highway 1 and to other provinces.

FOCUS ON INVESTMENT RESOURCES

Identifying transport infrastructure as one of the breakthroughs, in the coming time, Tien Giang will continue to focus resources on investing in projects. According to the Department of Finance of Tien Giang province, in the coming time, the province will focus on implementing key projects such as: Component project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Construction Project, phase 1; Provincial Road 864; Traffic road on both sides of Bao Dinh River. At the same time, focus on completing investment preparation procedures for Provincial Road 877C Project; coastal road; urban traffic axis, Hung Vuong road (extended), Provincial Road 878 (phase 2).

Provincial Road 864 Project Phase 1 has completed the section from National Highway 50 to Provincial Road 877B.

Currently, Cai Be District People's Committee is also urgently implementing Component Project 1 of Provincial Road Project 864. In the coming time, the province will continue to construct the section from Long Binh to Den Do and continue to invest in the section from Den Do to Tan Thanh beach of Component Project 2 of Provincial Road Project 864 to complete the entire route to ensure traffic from National Highway 30 to Tan Thanh beach in the shortest time.

Recently, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution 12 on approving the investment policy of Group A projects using public investment capital managed by the Provincial People's Committee. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Council approved the investment policy of 2 Group A projects using public investment capital managed by the Provincial People's Committee with a total investment of 7,829 billion VND. These are 2 key transport projects of strategic significance in the socio-economic development of the province.

Including the Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang Urban Traffic Axis Project through Tien Giang Province (National Highway 50B Planning). The route plays a role in connecting important traffic routes in the region (National Highway 50, National Highway 50B, National Highway 1, National Highway 60...), forming a dynamic traffic route from Ho Chi Minh City to Tien Giang; connecting Ho Chi Minh City to provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and vice versa, promoting regional connectivity development. The project is about 14 km long, starting at Km35+600 National Highway 50B, the border of Long An and Tien Giang provinces; ending at 49+600 National Highway 50B, Trung Luong intersection, My Tho City.

The project will build a new route with a total length of about 14 km. In particular, the roadbed in the urban area is 40 m wide, the road surface is 6 lanes wide and 22.5 m wide; the roadbed in the extra-urban area is 31 m wide, the road surface is 6 lanes wide and 21 m wide. At the same time, the investment in bridges and culverts on the route will be synchronized with the road, with a design load of HL.93.

The total investment of the project is 4,279 billion VND, using the central and provincial budgets; the implementation period is 6 years. The project is divided into 2 component projects to facilitate site clearance and project implementation.

Specifically, Component Project 1 (compensation, support, resettlement), preliminary cost is about 2,181 billion VND; Component Project 2 (construction of urban traffic axis Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang section through Tien Giang province), preliminary cost is about 2,098 billion VND.

Particularly, Provincial Road Project 877C (National Highway 1 to National Highway 50, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway) is invested to gradually complete infrastructure, promote regional connectivity development; increase traffic capacity and transport of goods between the Eastern and Western regions of Tien Giang province...

The project starts at National Highway 1 at Luong Phu intersection; ends at National Highway 50 and Provincial Road 871B, Go Cong City. The project will build a new route with a total length of about 38.296 km, a 12 m wide roadbed, an 11 m wide road surface; invest in bridges and culverts on the route with a synchronous scale with the road, design load HL.93 (including the bridge over Cho Gao canal); total investment of 3,550 billion VND. The project uses the central and provincial budgets, implementation period is 6 years.

The project is divided into 2 component projects to facilitate site clearance and project implementation. Specifically, Component Project 1 (Compensation, support, and resettlement sub-project), preliminary cost is about 1,300 billion VND; Component Project 2 (construction of provincial road 877C), preliminary cost is about 2,250 billion VND.
