Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang has just been assigned by Ho Chi Minh City National University to be in charge of the University of Information Technology.

Today (November 25), Ho Chi Minh City National University decided to assign Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Principal of the University of Information Technology, to be in charge of the school from December 1, 2025 until further notice.

Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang was born in 1974 in Quang Nam (now Da Nang). Mr. Khang graduated from the University of Information Technology, University of Science (Ho Chi Minh City National University) in 1996.

In 2001, he received a master's degree in information technology from the University of Science (Ho Chi Minh City National University), then in 2014 he received a doctorate in information technology from the same university.

His working process is closely related to the field of information technology and in the system of Ho Chi Minh City National University. Specifically, from 1996 to 2012, Dr. Khang was a lecturer at the University of Natural Sciences, from 2012 to 2017 he was a lecturer at the University of Information Technology. He has held the position of Vice Principal of the University of Information Technology since 2017.

Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang's main research directions focus on two main areas: timetabling using metaheuristic approaches and computer vision. To date, Mr. Khang has published 75 scientific articles, of which 11 scientific articles are published in prestigious international journals and 7 scientific articles are published in prestigious international scientific journals.

Most recently, Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang was recognized by the State Council of Professors with the title of associate professor in the field of information technology.

With this decision, the Board of Directors of the University of Information Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) includes: Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang as Vice Principal in charge, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan as Vice Principal. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, Principal of the school, ceased to hold the position of Principal due to reaching the age of management.
