Ho Chi Minh City National University has just decided to transfer and appoint the position of principal of the University of Health Sciences .
Specifically, from June 1, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang, Director of the Center for Nanostructured and Molecular Materials Research (INOMAR) officially holds the position of principal of this school.

Previously, last March, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang was voted by members of the Ho Chi Minh City National University Council to be recognized as the principal of the University of Health Sciences.
Professor Phan Bach Thang was born in 1979, from Thai Binh .
He received his PhD in Advanced Materials Science & Technology from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea in 2009, and was appointed Professor of Physics in 2022.
Up to now, Mr. Thang has published more than 200 articles in SCIE journals (10 international publications published in scientific journals in the Nature index); co-authored 2 international patents (USA, Korea), edited 1 monograph; successfully trained 5 PhDs.
The University of Health Sciences is the newest member university of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. The school was officially established in July 2024 on the basis of developing the Faculty of Medicine of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
At that time, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, was also the principal of this school.
