Continue to promote Party building and rectification work in the diplomatic sector

On the afternoon of December 22, the 32nd Diplomatic Conference continued with the Plenary Session on Party Building and Party Work Abroad, with the theme "Strengthening the Party's leadership, improving the quality of Party members at home and abroad, contributing to building a clean and strong Diplomatic sector in all aspects."

Member of the Politburo , Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai attended and delivered a speech. Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung also attended.

Important foundation for successful implementation of political tasks

At the conference, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized that this is a very important conference for the Diplomatic sector to look back and evaluate the results of Party building work in the Diplomatic sector and Party work abroad over more than half of the term of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, drawing lessons; on that basis, proposing key tasks and measures to further promote Party building, improve the quality of Party members, contributing to the implementation of the political tasks of the Diplomatic sector in the coming years...

Since the beginning of the 13th Party Congress, the world and regional situation has undergone major and complex changes, including unprecedented developments, which have had multi-dimensional impacts on the socio-economic development of our country.

After 4 years of implementing Decision No. 209 dated November 26, 2019 of the Politburo on merging the Overseas Party Committee and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently the largest in the Party Committee of the Central Agencies with a well-organized apparatus with nearly 600 party organizations at home and abroad, a contingent of party members with more than 11,000 party members across all continents in the world and more than 6 million people and Vietnamese compatriots abroad.

According to Party Secretary Bui Thanh Son, the important and outstanding results achieved during the first half of the 13th Party Congress include successfully leading the completion of foreign affairs tasks; researching and advising on Party building with many important results; innovating methods of implementing political and ideological work; building grassroots party organizations, managing party members and strengthening inspection and supervision work; stepping up the review and innovation of work processes, reforming administrative procedures in party work, implementing the project to digitize party member records...

Party Secretary Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the above results of Party building work are an important foundation to help the Diplomatic sector successfully carry out political tasks, contributing to the great achievements of foreign affairs work in more than half of the 13th tenure.

In addition to the achievements, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son frankly pointed out the limitations and shortcomings and drew many valuable lessons for the entire Party Committee to make more efforts to improve its fighting strength and leadership and direction capacity. In particular, the most important lesson is to constantly strengthen the Party building and rectification in terms of ideology, politics, ethics, lifestyle and organizational apparatus with a focus on building a contingent of cadres and Party members who are absolutely loyal to the Party and the national interests, comprehensive in terms of moral qualities, intelligence, capacity and qualifications...

At the meeting, delegates listened to presentations from leaders of central and local departments, ministries and branches, leaders of the Foreign Affairs sector, Party Committees abroad through different periods, and Ambassadors, Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, key officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs...

Continue to attach importance to Party building and rectification

In her speech, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai highly appreciated and agreed with the theme of the 32nd Diplomatic Conference's Party building session, which is "Strengthening the Party's leadership, improving the quality of Party members and cadres at home and abroad, contributing to building a clean and strong diplomatic sector in all aspects."

The Standing Secretariat affirmed that, together with Party and people's foreign affairs, the diplomatic sector has contributed to maintaining peace and stability, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, mobilizing resources for socio-economic development, and continuing to enhance the country's position and prestige.

The Standing Secretariat pointed out five outstanding results of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Thoroughly grasping the Party's guidelines and policies, concretizing them closely to practical requirements, focusing on synchronously implementing 10 tasks of Party building; continuing to perfect the organizational apparatus, paying attention to building a contingent of cadres; strengthening political and ideological work, especially the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation abroad; mass mobilization work associated with the characteristics of the overseas Vietnamese community; Party member management work to ensure that no Party member abroad is not organized, arranged and participates in Party activities.

According to the Standing Secretariat, these outstanding results have demonstrated the efforts, unanimity, and unceasing striving to contribute to the cause of national construction and defense of the Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Party committees and organizations at all levels at home and abroad, including the pioneering role of Party Committee Secretaries who are also Ambassadors, Heads of representative agencies and each cadre and Party member in the Foreign Affairs sector. Along with that is the close coordination of Party committees, Party committees of ministries, branches and provincial, municipal Party Committees, and Party Committees directly under the Central Committee so that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can successfully complete the work of Party building and Party work abroad.

However, in addition to the achieved results, the Standing Secretariat reminded the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the shortcomings, limitations and issues arising in Party building and Party work abroad, including objective and subjective causes arising from the characteristics of Party work abroad.

The Standing Secretariat suggested that the entire Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to attach importance to Party building and rectification, considering this as the fundamental foundation for excellently completing political tasks; research and advise on practical issues to have a suitable mechanism model for cadres and Party members abroad; innovate working methods, especially innovate Party activities in a practical and effective direction, closely linked to political tasks; pay attention to the work of Party member management; proactively advise and propose solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the work of Party member management abroad.

Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai requested Party members and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue training and effectively contribute to enhancing the country's position and image; she believed that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to do well in Party building, continue to closely coordinate with departments, ministries, branches and localities to further promote Party work abroad, contributing to the successful implementation of the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a ceremony to commend collectives with outstanding achievements in implementing Party work and protecting the Party's ideological foundation./.
