Continue to improve the effectiveness of social policy credit

On the morning of June 5, the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies held an online conference with the Board of Representatives of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies at all levels to evaluate the implementation of policy credit tasks in the first 5 months of the year; and orientations for tasks in the last months of the year.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam , Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Nguyen Thi Hong chaired the conference. Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc and members of the Board of Representatives of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies attended the conference at the An Giang bridge.

In the first 5 months of 2025, closely following the direction of the Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister, the State Bank of Vietnam and the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, the Board of Directors at all levels have effectively implemented the political tasks assigned by the Party and the State, ensuring effective and safe operations and achieving many outstanding results. In An Giang, in the first 5 months of the year, the total loan turnover reached 1,244.4 billion VND, with 18,010 poor households and other policy beneficiaries receiving loans (an increase of 805.6 billion VND over the same period in 2024). The provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies is implementing 20 policy credit programs, with a total outstanding policy credit balance of 6,140.8 billion VND, an increase of 596.3 billion VND over 2024.

Speaking at the conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Nguyen Thi Hong acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies at all levels in the first months of the year. Thereby, she hoped that the Board of Directors at all levels would continue to effectively implement Directive 39-CT/TW, dated October 30, 2024 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on improving the effectiveness of social policy credit in the new period. Well implement the contents related to the arrangement of the political system's apparatus, ensuring that it does not affect the implementation of policy credit at the grassroots level.

In addition, it is necessary to increase the mobilization of deposits from organizations and individuals in the market to promptly meet the capital disbursement needs for policy credit programs. Disbursement must be urgently implemented according to the 2025 credit growth plan assigned by the Prime Minister, in order to support the effective implementation of the National Target Programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in the period of 2021 - 2025.
