Continue to replicate the intergenerational self-help club model

Leaders of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Association of the Elderly awarded 4 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in elderly work in 2024.

The Pho Yen City Association of the Elderly currently has over 26,000 members, operating at 18 association locations. In the 2020-2025 period, implementing the policy of building and expanding the model of intergenerational self-help clubs, the city has established 57 clubs, attracting 3,570 elderly members and people to participate.

The clubs operate based on 8 groups of contents, including: Propaganda, mobilization and supervision; health care; culture and arts; sports; science and technology; livestock, crops, economic development; self-help, community support and protection of members' rights and interests.

In the period of 2020-2025, the City Elderly Association coordinated to organize eye disease screening for more than 5,000 members; provided eye disease treatment consultation for more than 1,600 members; gave gifts, visited and encouraged the elderly on holidays, Tet, and illness, with a total amount of nearly 500 million VND; helped more than 190 members of intergenerational self-help clubs from poor and near-poor households to borrow capital for economic development...

On this occasion, the Provincial Elderly Association awarded 4 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of the elderly in 2024; the Pho Yen City Elderly Association awarded 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in the activities of the Intergenerational Self-Help Club in the period of 2020-2025 and 23 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old age - bright example" in the period of 2021-2025.
