Continue to promote measures to expand multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Dominica

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of April 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, received comrade Miguel Mejia, General Secretary of the United Left Movement Party (MIU), Dominican Republic, leading the MIU Party Delegation to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Comrade Le Hoai Trung warmly welcomed and highly appreciated General Secretary Miguel Mejia's return to visit Vietnam and attend the special important Anniversary Ceremony, bringing the warm feelings and solidarity of the MIU Party and the people of the Dominican Republic to the people of Vietnam, contributing to the success of this important event of Vietnam; affirmed that Vietnam always appreciates the solidarity, support and assistance of the people of the Dominican Republic, as well as the efforts to connect and promote the relationship between the two countries of the MIU Party, especially of Comrade Miguel Mejia and the MIU Party Leadership in contributing to promoting the value of the monument of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital Santo Domingo, a symbol of the good relationship between the people of the two countries.

Comrade Miguel Mejia expressed his joy to return and the honor to participate in the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam. Comrade Miguel Mejia congratulated and expressed his admiration for the achievements Vietnam has made in the struggle to protect independence, build and defend the homeland of the Vietnamese people; at the same time, he highly appreciated the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam , affirming that Vietnam's victories and the leadership experience of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh's ideology are models and ideals for peace-loving peoples in the world .

Expressing satisfaction with the positive development of relations between the two countries in recent times, comrade Le Hoai Trung suggested that the two sides increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels through Party, State, National Assembly channels and people-to-people exchanges; effectively implement the mechanisms of Political Consultation at the Deputy Foreign Minister level and soon complete procedures to launch the Joint Committee mechanism to promote trade and investment between the two countries; promote negotiations to sign cooperation documents, contributing to perfecting the legal framework, creating favorable conditions for bilateral cooperation between the two countries; and continue to increase exchanges, explore possibilities and opportunities for investment cooperation in potential fields such as construction materials production, oil and gas exploitation, high-tech semiconductors, tourism, and agriculture.

Expressing gratitude for Vietnam’s warm and friendly reception during the celebration, General Secretary Miguel Mejia affirmed that the MIU always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen effective cooperation with the Communist Party of Vietnam, continues to promote measures to expand the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic; at the same time, is ready to support Vietnam in tightening and expanding relations with the Latin American region./.
