(CT) - On the afternoon of April 18, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City held a conference to review the implementation of the tasks of the Industry and Trade sector in the first quarter of 2025 and deploy directions and tasks for the second quarter of 2025. In the first quarter of 2025, the industrial production index is estimated to increase by 6.78% over the same period last year (the annual plan is to increase by 6%); total retail sales of goods and service revenue are estimated to reach more than 35,267 billion VND, up 12.9% over the same period last year, reaching 23.4% of the annual plan; export turnover of goods and service revenue is estimated to reach 142.4 million USD, up 8.4% over the same period in 2024, reaching 25% of the annual plan. The Department has received and issued 4,547 sets of certificates of origin of exported goods (C/O) (of which 1,735 sets are for enterprises in Can Tho City), an increase of 624 sets, equivalent to 14.62%, compared to the same period last year...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien requested the city's Industry and Trade sector to continue implementing solutions, coordinating with relevant units to achieve the industry's 2025 targets to reach double digits as planned; focusing on solutions to remove difficulties for industrial enterprises, promote trade, connect consumption, promote and stimulate demand to increase trade value; continue to effectively carry out the work of streamlining and organizing a streamlined and efficient apparatus; coordinate to grasp market developments; pay attention to monitoring the difficulties of enterprises to promptly advise the City People's Committee in directing and operating; pay attention to linking between localities and sectors to connect consumption of goods; pay attention to implementing the digital transformation of the industry according to plan... At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested enterprises to continue to make efforts to overcome difficulties, develop production and business; achieve the best production and business results in 2025.
