In the presence of relevant departments and branches, An Giang Provincial Police organized the destruction of 6,160 bottles, 60 cans and 200 packages of various pesticides containing substances banned from use in Vietnam. These are the pesticides in 2 administrative violations, with unidentified violators, discovered and arrested by the An Giang Province Joint Task Force on Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods in recent times.

The destruction is organized to ensure the handling of exhibits in accordance with the provisions of law, protect the rights and health of consumers, the legitimate rights and interests of legitimate production and business organizations; at the same time educate and deter violators in the fields of trade, production and trade of counterfeit and prohibited goods.

According to statistics, every year the Mekong Delta uses thousands of tons of various pesticides, many of which contain herbicides containing the active ingredient paraquat (commonly known as land clearing medicine), which has long been banned from circulation.
