The news bulletin of Vietnam News Agency (now Vietnam News Agency) released on April 28, 1975, provided important information about the struggle for national reunification. Notable news included:

- Bien Hoa army and people captured the enemy base in Trang Bom town; attacked the puppet army's 3rd Corps headquarters in Bien Hoa.

- The army and people of Phuoc Tuy province broke the enemy's suppression system, captured and completely controlled Phuoc Le town (Ba Ria).

- 50,000 compatriots, cadres and soldiers gathered to celebrate the victory of completely liberating Central Central Vietnam.

- Ben Tre army and people attacked and rose up to fight the enemy, eliminating nearly 3,000 enemy soldiers from combat, leveling and forcing the withdrawal of 35 forts, liberating 9 hamlets with nearly 4,000 people.

- Long An army and people surrounded and attacked the enemy's fort system, killed more than 320 enemies, and liberated many hamlets and communes.

- Thousands of puppet soldiers in the provinces of Ben Tre, Long An, Gia Dinh, Tay Ninh and Long Chau Ha deserted and returned to the people.
