Chelsea surprisingly borrows player from Brighton
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have suddenly jumped into the race to sign Brighton midfielder Facundo Buonanotte. The Blues are even very close to signing the 20-year-old talent on loan, with an option to buy.
Buonanotte was said to have been preparing to travel to Leeds for a medical to complete the transfer process for the Premier League newcomer. But it seems that the arrival of Chelsea has made the young Argentine decide to "turn around".
The Blues are turning to Buonanotte because their top target, Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig), has reached an agreement to join Tottenham. Last season, the player born in 2004 played for Leicester City on loan, scoring 6 goals and 3 assists in a total of 35 appearances.
Tottenham officially snatches Chelsea's "hot item"
Tottenham have announced the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. The Dutch attacking midfielder has passed a medical and signed a five-year contract with Spurs, with an option to extend for a further two years.
At his new club, Xavi Simons will wear the number 7 shirt, which used to belong to former captain Son Heung-min. "I'm really happy and can't wait to play. This is a great team and after talking to coach Thomas Frank, I know Tottenham is the right place for me," the 22-year-old talent excitedly said.
According to Sky Sports, before joining Tottenham, Xavi Simon was a close target of Chelsea. But in the context of Chelsea hesitating because of the plan to liquidate some players and focus on recruiting Alejandro Garnacho, Spurs quickly jumped into the race.
Thanks to a generous offer of 60 million euros, the Roosters were immediately given the green light by RB Leipzig to complete the deal before the 2025 summer transfer window closed.
Palace welcome Eze's replacement
Crystal Palace's homepage announced that it has completed the deal to recruit Yeremy Pino from Villarreal with a 5-year contract. According to BBC, in exchange for the services of the midfielder born in 2002, the reigning FA Cup champions had to pay 26 million pounds.
Yeremy Pino is seen as a worthy replacement for Eberechi Eze at Selhurst Park. The Spanish international himself will also take back the number 10 shirt from the former Palace captain.
Before agreeing to move to England, Pino had 5 seasons with Villarreal, playing a total of 175 matches and contributing 45 goals. In addition, this young midfielder also played 15 times for the Spanish national team and scored 3 goals.
Man City reach agreement to buy Donnarumma
According to information from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Man City and PSG have agreed on a preliminary transfer fee for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Accordingly, the Etihad team will have to pay the French giant 30 million euros, plus 5 million euros in additional fees.
The only problem with the deal being approved is... Ederson. Man City will only welcome Donnarumma once they have sold the Brazilian goalkeeper. Currently, Galatasaray is the only team interested in Ederson, but the asking price is only around 10 million euros.
Liverpool receive good news in Guehi deal
According to The Guardian, Crystal Palace have reached an agreement to sign centre-back Jaydee Canvot. The Selhurst Park team and their Toulouse partners have agreed on a transfer fee of £25 million, including fees.
The 19-year-old talent is expected to fly to London soon to complete the medical. If the deal goes through, Palace will likely accept the departure of captain Marc Guehi. That would be good news for Liverpool because the Premier League champions have been closely following Guehi since the beginning of the summer transfer window and are willing to spend around £30-35 million to get the 25-year-old midfielder's remaining year on the contract.
Arsenal are about to have Hincapie
Arsenal's plans to sign Piero Hincapie have made a big step forward, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Specifically, the Gunners have successfully convinced Bayer Leverkusen to loan the Ecuadorian international for one season, with a mandatory buyout clause.
The deal structure would give Arsenal more flexibility in complying with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. The fee the Gunners will have to pay the German club is expected to be around €50 million, around €10 million lower than the 23-year-old full-back's current contract termination clause with his parent club Leverkusen.
