On the morning of October 27, the Civil Defense Command issued an urgent notice that the current flow to the lakes is very large, Ta Trach Lake 6,728 m3/s; Binh Dien Lake 3,821 m3/s; Huong Dien Lake 2,631 m3/s. The lakes are increasing the flow to regulate downstream. The water levels of Huong River and Bo River are rising. It is expected that at about 10:00 a.m. on October 27, the water levels of Huong River and Bo River will continue to rise above alert level 3 (alarm level 3 on Huong River is 3.5m; alarm level 3 on Bo River is 4.5m). Risk of widespread urban flooding and landslides in many places.
Irrigation and hydroelectric reservoirs in the city are still operating safely, effectively performing flood reduction functions, especially Ta Trach reservoir. Accordingly, the water level of Huong Dien hydroelectric reservoir reached +57.01m, inflow to the lake 3,795m3/s, downstream flow 1,799m3/s (normal water level +58m); Binh Dien hydroelectric reservoir +82.24m, inflow to the lake 4,154m3/s; downstream flow 2,655m3/s (normal water level +85m); Ta Trach reservoir +42.18m, inflow to the lake 6,921m3/s, downstream flow 423m3/s (normal water level +45m). Irrigation reservoirs reached 84% of capacity, equivalent to 94.7/113 million m³.
According to the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of October 25 to the morning of October 27, Hue city will have heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain. The total rainfall from 1 p.m. on October 25 to 4 a.m. on October 27 is generally 250-450mm. It is forecasted that due to the influence of the cold air strengthening combined with disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone, from early morning on October 27 to early morning on October 29, Hue city will have heavy rain, very heavy rain, some places will have especially heavy rain in the mountainous areas. The total rainfall is generally 250-500mm, some places will have over 700mm.
