Exciting Ngo boat racing competition in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province

VHO - The Center for Culture, Sports and Broadcasting of Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province has just coordinated with Thon Don Pagoda to organize the opening ceremony of the 3rd Rach Gia Ward Mini Ngo Boat Racing Tournament (expanded), competing for the Thon Don Pagoda Cup, 2025.

Participating in this year's tournament are 42 mini-boat teams from many pagodas and hamlets inside and outside the province, such as: Thanh Loc, Binh An, Chau Thanh, Dinh Hoa, Go Quao, Giong Rieng, Ngoc Chuc, Long Thanh, Dong Thai, An Bien, Vinh Hoa, Binh My communes; Rach Gia and Vinh Thong wards ( An Giang province); Hoa Luu and Vinh Vien communes and Vi Tan ward (Can Tho city).

Mr. Tran Kim Quoi, Director of Rach Gia Ward Culture, Sports and Broadcasting Center, said: The mini boat race is an activity to celebrate the success of the 1st Congress of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030; to celebrate the Kathina and Silver Flower Offering ceremonies. This is also an annual activity, introducing the potential and strengths in sports activities of the Khmer people.

From November 4 to 6 (15 to 17 of the 9th lunar month), An Giang province will organize the 17th Khmer Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival in An Giang province in 2025. The opening ceremony will be at 7:30 a.m. on November 5, 2025; the moon worshiping ceremony will be on the evening of November 5; the Ngo boat racing competition will take place from November 5 to 6. The activities will take place at the grandstand on the bank of Cai Lon river, Go Quao commune, An Giang province. The festival will include: Displaying images and artifacts of the Khmer people; exhibitions, book displays; trade fairs and introductions of local products. At the festival, there will be cultural and artistic activities, including: Competition to make beautiful water-water scaffolding; art performances and the "Khmer Traditional Arts" Festival in An Giang province in 2025; art performances after the opening ceremony of the festival.

Sports competitions include: An Giang Province's 2025 men's and women's boat racing tournament; An Giang Province's Taekwondo Club Cup 2025; Go Quao Commune's men's volleyball tournament 2025, Go Quao Commune's men's football tournament (11 players) 2025. The festival takes place from October 28 to November 6.
