These are two tournaments being held for the first time specifically for youth futsal teams in the region, and Vietnam's futsal team is also participating.

According to the draw results, at the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Futsal Championship, the Vietnam U19 Futsal team is in Group A along with Thailand and Brunei.

The Vietnamese Futsal team is actively preparing for the Asian qualifiers.
Group B consists of Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Cambodia. The tournament will take place from December 23 to 29, 2025, at the Nonthaburi Provincial Arena (Thailand).
Teams compete in a round-robin format within their groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals to compete for a spot in the final.
In the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Futsal Championship, five teams will participate: Thailand (host), Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Brunei.
The teams will compete in a round-robin format to determine the two best-performing teams that will advance to the final, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete for third place.

The tournament will be held at the same location as the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Futsal Championship, in Nonthaburi (Thailand).
This is the first time the AFF has organized Futsal tournaments for U16 and U19 age groups, marking a significant turning point for youth futsal in the region. This event opens up great opportunities for young players, given that Southeast Asia currently lacks an official platform specifically for youth futsal.
Previously, the only tournament at the youth level was the AFC U20 Futsal Championship, organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). However, it was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and has not yet resumed.

Nevertheless, Vietnamese youth futsal remains stable. Every year, the Vietnamese U19/20 futsal team is regularly called up for training and international friendly matches, including two high-quality matches against the Russian U19 team in 2024.
In addition, the National U20 Futsal Championship organized by the VFF has become an important platform, contributing to the discovery and training of many promising young talents for Vietnamese futsal.
According to the plan, in preparation for the two upcoming regional tournaments, the Vietnamese U19 and U16 Futsal teams are expected to begin training in Ho Chi Minh City from November 16th.
