42 players participate in the 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Excellent Racquets

VHO - The 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Excellent Racquets has officially kicked off in Hai Phong city, attracting the participation of 42 top players nationwide.

The tournament attracts the best tennis players to compete.

This is a prestigious annual sporting event. This year's tournament was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong in collaboration with the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department and the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, bringing together 21 male and 21 female players from strong units such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, the Army, the People's Public Security - T&T, Khanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang and Lam Dong.

Athletes competed in men's and women's singles, with Nguyen Anh Tu (Hanoi) and Mai Hoang My Trang ( Ho Chi Minh City) entering the tournament as defending champions.

The tournament was first held in 1988 and has become an indispensable part of the country's sports life, an important measure to evaluate the training, coaching and talent development of localities and units.

The organizers presented souvenir flags to the tennis players participating in the tournament.

In 2025, Hai Phong – the central urban area of ​​the Northern region – was chosen to host the event, which has special significance as the city is expanding its administrative boundaries and affirming its role as the development nucleus of the region.

Hosting the tournament not only demonstrates the city's organizational capacity but is also an opportunity to promote the image of a dynamic, civilized and hospitable Hai Phong to friends across the country.

This year's National Table Tennis Tournament for Outstanding Racquets is considered a gathering place for the elite of Vietnamese table tennis, an opportunity to evaluate the level, discover and select outstanding faces to supplement the national team in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games taking place next December.

With the participation of the best players, the tournament promises to bring exciting competitions, dramatic moves and noble sportsmanship, contributing to promoting the Vietnamese table tennis movement to develop even more strongly. The tournament will close on the afternoon of October 31.
