Revealing the "boss" of corporate bond issuance
According to a recently released report, MB Securities (MBS) said the total value of corporate bonds successfully issued in September was estimated at more than VND71,600 billion, up 6% over the previous month and 94% over the same period, most of which were from banks, accounting for about 85%.

Techcombank (VND 2,700 billion, 24-month term, 5% interest rate), OCB (VND 2,500 billion, 36-month term, 5.5% interest rate), Vietinbank (VND 2,000 billion, 120-month term, 6.1% interest rate).
Banks' push to mobilize capital through bonds, despite capital costs being more expensive than 12-month deposit interest rates, is believed to be aimed at supplementing the medium- and long-term capital structure in the context of gradually recovering loan demand, according to MBS.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year, banking is the industry group with the highest issuance value with about 245,400 billion VND, up 188% over the same period, accounting for 74% of the total issuance value, the average weighted interest rate is 5.6%/year, the average term is 5.3 years.
Banks issuing the largest value since the beginning of the year include: ACB (VND 29,800 billion), Techcombank (VND 26,700 billion), OCB (VND 24,700 billion).
MBS experts believe that banks will continue to promote bond issuance to supplement capital to meet lending needs.
From the beginning of the year to the end of the third quarter, credit increased by 8.53%, higher than the 6.24% in the same period last year. Credit is forecast to accelerate in the last months of the year following the strong recovery of production, export and services.
