The "kingpin" of corporate bond issuance has been revealed.
According to a recently released report, MB Securities (MBS) stated that the total value of successfully issued corporate bonds in September reached over VND 71,600 billion, an increase of 6% compared to the previous month and 94% compared to the same period last year, with the majority (approximately 85%) coming from banks.
GOLD PRICE UPDATE
Notable releases in September include:
Techcombank (2,700 billion VND, 24-month term, 5% interest rate),OCB (2,500 billion VND, 36-month term, 5.5% interest rate), Vietinbank (2,000 billion VND, 120-month term, 6.1% interest rate).
According to MBS, banks are stepping up fundraising through bond issuance, despite the higher cost of capital compared to 12-month deposit interest rates, to supplement their medium- and long-term capital structure amidst a gradual recovery in borrowing demand.
Cumulatively from the beginning of the year, the banking sector had the highest issuance value with approximately VND 245,400 billion, an increase of 188% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 74% of the total issuance value, with a weighted average interest rate of 5.6%/year and an average term of 5.3 years.
The banks that have issued the largest amounts of bonds since the beginning of the year include:ACB (VND 29,800 billion), Techcombank (VND 26,700 billion), and OCB (VND 24,700 billion).
MBS experts believe that banks will continue to aggressively issue bonds to raise capital to meet lending needs.
From the beginning of the year to the end of the third quarter, credit increased by 8.53%, higher than the 6.24% recorded during the same period last year. Credit is projected to accelerate in the remaining months of the year due to the strong recovery of manufacturing, exports, and services.
