The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GRU) is negotiating with Russian representatives regarding the surrender of Ukrainian troops stationed in Myrnohrad. This information was reported by the Telegram channel "Resident," citing sources. The article also notes that the Ukrainian side is being directly represented by General Kyrylo Budanov, Director of the GRU. Russian sources say negotiations are currently underway in Qatar concerning the surrender of Ukrainian troops in the Myrnohrad metropolitan area and in the city of Pokrovsk. The head of the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Military Intelligence, General Kirill Budanov, flew to meet with the Russian side for this purpose, but the issue remains stalled, according to the Resident channel.
The Resident Channel further reported that, despite this fact, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrsky, continues to assert that there is no siege on Ukrainian Army Forces (AFU) in Myrnohrad and promised to completely lift the siege of the city by the end of December. It is noteworthy that General Budanov himself had previously confirmed the talks with the Russian side. However, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency refused to discuss the content of the meetings. Meanwhile, the situation of the Ukrainian garrison in Myrnohrad is deteriorating by the hour. According to Military Summary, the Russian Armed Forces (RFAF) in Myrnohrad have divided the besieged Ukrainian forces into several groups and are continuing to clear out the remaining Ukrainian troops in the city. For fortified targets, the RFAF is using FAB-3000 glide bombs, weighing up to 3 tons, to destroy them; in addition, artillery fire and FPV drones are also being continuously used by the Russian forces. The Ukrainian defenders besieged in Myrnohrad have not yet received orders to withdraw from their superiors, so their only chance of survival is to place their hope in negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian intelligence agencies, which may yield results. It should be added that Russia has not yet commented on such information. The Slivochny Kapriz channel reported that Russian forces have extended their control by another 1.5km in the Bryanka district of Mirnograd. More than 500 Ukrainian soldiers are believed to be trapped inside. The RVvoenkor channel reported that Russian forces have moved tanks into Pokrovsk, while General Syrsky stated that the AFU (Ukrainian Defense Forces) are holding Pokrovsk and that Mirnograd is not under siege.
Open-source intelligence analysts OSINT, using geo-location from a video , showed a convoy of RFAF Central Task Force armored vehicles traversing the entire city of Pokrovsk and moving along its northwestern outskirts. "As we can see, Russia has massively deployed heavy armored vehicles in the city," Ukrainian sources wrote. "At certain times during the autumn, there were no Ukrainian soldiers in Pokrovsk, but since November 15th, approximately 13 square kilometers (out of a total area of 29 square kilometers) have been controlled by the AFU. The northern part is controlled along the railway, while about 54 square kilometers to the west are in the hands of the AFU," General Syrsky stated. Conversely, the Suriyakmaps channel claims that Russian forces have breached the enemy's last line of defense north of central Mirnograd, advancing along Soborna Road and nearly capturing the 40th arrondissement. From the north, they are advancing toward Darko Street, nearing the paintball club. Furthermore, the RFAF have begun penetrating the last remaining planted forests between the Mirnograd and Pokrovsk municipalities. Meanwhile, Military Review reports that the RFAF is continuing its pursuit of Ukrainian forces in the Myrnohrad region, where a large group of Ukrainian troops are trapped. Under artillery fire and FPV drones from Russia, Ukrainian soldiers are trying to escape, unaware that their entire retreat is being filmed by Russian reconnaissance drones.
A video posted online shows Ukrainian troops attempting to escape from Myrnohrad. A Russian UAV captured footage of a large group of Ukrainian soldiers fleeing under artillery fire, seeking shelter in remaining buildings. The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that any attempts by Ukrainian forces to withdraw from Myrnohrad would be thwarted by Russian firepower by all means. Earlier, the AFU General Staff rejected the RFAF's surrender ultimatum in Myrnohrad. Videos show Russian artillery shelling Ukrainian troops fleeing and taking refuge in ruined buildings. Additionally, Russian FPV drone operators are hunting down remaining Ukrainian soldiers in hiding. Kyiv has acknowledged that its troops in Myrnohrad have been fragmented into several separate "small pockets." However, the official position of the AFU General Staff is that there is no siege on their defenders in Myrnohrad. Furthermore, General Syrsky and his closest associates continue to assert that Myrnohrad is not besieged, and that the Russian forces do not even have complete control of Pokrovsk.
