Successfully organized the congress of the grassroots trade union

STO - On June 6, at the Provincial Political School, the Executive Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union solemnly held the 4th Congress of the Soc Trang Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term. This is the unit chosen by the Provincial Labor Federation as the model congress of the grassroots-level trade union. Attending the event were comrades: Ho Thi Cam Dao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Duong Sa Kha - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Ly Binh Cang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc; leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation; leaders of labor federations of districts, towns, cities, industry unions and equivalents, and 135 summoned delegates, representing more than 3,571 union members of the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union.

During the past term, the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union has always paid attention to caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers through specific and practical actions. Accordingly, nearly 11,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, sick, pregnant, or with occupational diseases were supported with tens of billions of VND; 20 "Union Shelters" were built and repaired with a total amount of nearly 1 billion VND (reaching 175% of the resolution target)...

Under the leadership of the Party and the guidance of the trade union, union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers have actively participated in patriotic emulation movements. The focus is on the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers", the program "One million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic"... Through the launches, there have been 1,050 initiative topics, 362 projects, and tasks implemented worth over 7.2 billion VND, generating nearly 21 billion VND in profit.

From activities towards union members and grassroots, in the 2018 - 2023 term, the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union has achieved and exceeded 13/13 targets. The annual assessment and classification results have all completed tasks well, including 3 years of excellent task completion. The Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union was voted as the leading unit in the emulation of district, town and city labor federations and was awarded 2 certificates of merit by the Provincial Labor Federation; the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded 3 emulation flags for excellent task completion.

With the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union Congress has passed a resolution with specific targets. Accordingly, in the 2023 - 2028 term, strive to have 3,636 union members (actual increase of 65 union members); 100% of grassroots unions participate with employers in promulgating and implementing grassroots democracy regulations; union financial collection reaches 100% compared to the amount of union fees and union dues to be collected; strive to mobilize the construction and repair of at least 15 "Union Warm Houses" for union members, cadres, civil servants and public employees facing housing difficulties; 100% of union members and employees register and activate electronic identification accounts; at least 80% of union members and employees implement electronic payment applications based on digital technology.

Speaking at the congress, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Son - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation highly appreciated and commended the results that the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union has achieved in the past time. At the same time, he emphasized that it is necessary to identify the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, civil servants, public employees and workers as a central and continuous task in all activities. The head of the trade union organization needs to proactively and actively participate in contributing to the construction of the government, concretize, organize the implementation, summarize and summarize the policies and laws of the Party and the State. Coordinate to resolve or propose to the Party and the government to promptly resolve issues arising in labor relations and concerns of union members, civil servants, public employees and workers.

The Congress elected 15 comrades to the Executive Committee of the 4th term for the 2023 - 2028 term. Comrade Doan Thi Chien was elected to hold the position of President of the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term. The Congress elected a delegation to attend the 11th Provincial Trade Union Congress, including 13 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates.

On this occasion, comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao and comrade Nguyen Thanh Son presented gifts and flower baskets to congratulate the congress. In addition, 2 groups and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union activities, term 2018 - 2023 were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Labor Federation. The Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups with outstanding achievements in trade union activities in the past term.
