At the conference, 100 delegates who are ship owners, captains and fishermen in Tran De district were informed by specialized agencies about the provisions of the Fisheries Law, Decree No. 26/2019/ND-CP, Decree No. 37/2024/ND-CP, new regulations related to fishing activities, such as: recording and submitting electronic fishing logs; operating VMS voyage monitoring equipment; controlling the volume of seafood unloaded at ports; tracing the origin of products through the eCDT electronic system... On this occasion, fishermen were also provided with voyage monitoring equipment by the unit, answering questions related to troubleshooting lost connection of voyage monitoring signals. At the same time, the Telecommunication Company guided them on how to register and use electronic fishing log software.

Soc Trang province currently has 792 fishing vessels, with 100% (341) of fishing vessels with a length of 15m or more installing voyage monitoring equipment. Although the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing has achieved many positive results, there are still cases of fishing vessels losing connection to the VMS voyage monitoring equipment; the work of recording electronic fishing logs and tracing the origin of aquatic products is not yet synchronized...

Through the conference, comrade Quach Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province requested that ship owners and captains seriously and fully record their fishing logs, especially for fishing vessels over 15m in length; ensure that the VMS voyage monitoring device signal is maintained continuously 24/7. When returning to shore, the unloading of products at the fishing port must be supervised, and full documents must be provided for confirmation and certification of origin... Ensure good compliance with the Fisheries Law and related regulations to join hands with the whole country to soon remove the "yellow card" warning of the European Commission (EC).
