Comrade Nguyen Quoc Trieu was born on June 22, 1951 in Phu Hoa commune, Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh province; joined the Party on August 25, 1972. Permanent residence at No. 27, Area Q, Nam Thang Long, Xuan Dinh ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi city.
He is a member of the 10th Party Central Committee; former Head of the Central Committee for Protection and Health Care of Cadres; former Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Health ; former Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, 13th and 14th terms, former Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee...

He was awarded by the Party and State: First-class Independence Medal, First-class, Second-class and Third-class Labor Medals; Second-class Resistance War Medal against America for National Salvation; Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldier Badge; 50-year Party membership badge and many other noble awards.
Due to old age and serious illness, he passed away at 5:07 p.m. on January 24, 2025 (December 25, Giap Thin year) in Hanoi, at the age of 74.

The years 2004-2007 were the period when Hanoi's economy had a very high growth rate, reaching double digits.
In the first year he took office as Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee (2004), the capital's economy grew by 11.12%. Most of the city's economic targets were achieved and exceeded the plan, such as: Budget revenue increased by 8.5%, social investment capital mobilization increased by 12.2%, service production value increased by 11.8%, export increased by 19%... The funeral of comrade Nguyen Quoc Trieu will begin at 7:00 a.m. on January 26, 2025 at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
