As a locality rich in revolutionary tradition, after the liberation of the South and national reunification, Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province has always paid attention to caring for and implementing policies for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Cai Lay district currently has more than 6,200 policy families and people with revolutionary contributions. The work of "Repaying gratitude" has been carried out with attention by the Party committees and authorities at all levels of the district through meaningful actions, fully and promptly resolving subsidy regimes according to regulations, taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, sending people with meritorious contributions to centralized treatment, visiting and giving gifts to policy families on holidays and Tet...

In 2024 and the first months of 2025, Cai Lay district will pay regular allowances, nursing expenses for people with meritorious services, preferential allowances for relatives of martyrs, gifts for families with preferential policies... with a total cost of more than 90 billion VND.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Cai Lay district organized a delegation to visit and present gifts to 262 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, and senior party members in communes and towns. At the families, the district leaders respectfully acknowledged the contributions and sacrifices of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, families of martyrs, and people with meritorious services in the struggle for national liberation and national reunification. At the same time, they affirmed that today's generation will always remember, inherit, and promote the revolutionary achievements to build an increasingly prosperous homeland.

Supporting and creating conditions for families with policies and meritorious people to have a stable life is a task that the Party Committee and authorities at all levels in Cai Lay district pay special attention to. Every year, the district focuses on verifying, processing records, paying subsidies in a timely manner, and reviewing and understanding the circumstances of each family, providing support in terms of housing, preferential loans, economic development conditions, etc.

The locality also paid attention to renovating and upgrading the martyrs' memorial house and revolutionary historical sites; coordinating the search and collection of martyrs' remains. The attention of authorities at all levels has warmed the hearts of families with meritorious services. Continuing the tradition, many war invalids, sick soldiers, and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution have overcome difficulties and obstacles in health and disability, strived to develop the economy, and made many contributions to the locality.

With affection and responsibility, the work of "Repaying gratitude" focused on by Cai Lay district has gradually improved the material and spiritual life of policy families. Thereby, expressing gratitude and honoring the contributions and sacrifices of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, families of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution, fostering patriotism, national pride and embellishing the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source".
