After being eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 a few days ago, PSG is now "wholeheartedly" focused on the goal of winning the Ligue 1 championship. Traveling to Brest's field (a team in the danger zone, only 2 points above the relegation zone), coach Christophe Galtier continued to launch the strongest lineup with the star duo Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in attack.
PSG put immense pressure on the home team as they continuously penetrated the flanks thanks to Mbappe's speed. In the 11th minute, Soler made the Brest players gasp with a shot that hit the post. In the 29th minute, Mbappe missed the chance to open the scoring when his shot went just wide of the goal.

However, PSG's attacking efforts were finally rewarded. In the 37th minute, Mbappe unleashed a powerful long-range shot that Brest goalkeeper Bizot could not catch. Seizing the opportunity, Carlos Soler swooped in to score the opening goal for the Parisian team.
However, PSG did not have time to celebrate for long before they received a "cold shower". 7 minutes after conceding a goal, the home team had a quality counter-attack when Castillo sent a long pass that tore through PSG's defense, allowing Honorat to use his speed to run down and then finish past goalkeeper Donnarumma. The score was balanced at 1-1 before the first half ended.
In the second half, PSG continued to push up their formation to attack in search of a goal. However, Messi, Mbappe and Nuno Mendes all missed consecutive scoring opportunities regrettably.

It seemed like the match would end in a draw, but in the 90th minute, in a quick counter-attack from the home field, Messi sent a long one-touch pass for Mbappe to use his speed to get past the defense and face goalkeeper Bizot. The French striker easily defeated the Dutch goalkeeper to bring home a 2-1 victory.

This victory helps PSG continue to firmly hold the top position in Ligue 1 with 66 points after 27 rounds, 11 points more than the second-placed team Marseille but having played one more match.
