When adults are "carefree", children are "understanding"

Recently, a clip of a man (who appeared to have been drinking) picking up his child went viral on social media. While he was cutting off his car and loudly cursing the driver, the little girl clasped her hands, nodded, and appeared to apologize on behalf of her father. Many people commented, “Children are so understanding, it’s heartbreaking, while adults don’t set an example for their children!”

If you pay attention, in some cases, while children understand, adults are very "innocent".

Once, I witnessed two parents picking up their children in front of the school gate. Because there were many cars, they had a minor collision. The father was angry and shouted at the driver who had just hit the front wheel of his motorbike. Meanwhile, the child begged: “Come on, Dad, it’s okay. Besides, she’s… a woman. Leave her. Go home, Dad.” The child begged and held on to his father’s shirt for a while before he let the woman who was also picking up her child from the same school go.

I thought he would stay quiet, but unexpectedly he turned around and cursed his son. Many people who witnessed this situation had the same question as me, wondering how he was teaching his son? Because we are used to the saying “patience is the key to peace”, everything will be peaceful if we ignore small conflicts. This case is also a child who is “so sensible it hurts”!

Every day, we can witness many unintentional or intentional acts that if we do not set an example for our children, it will be difficult to build a civilized and modern lifestyle. We can mention situations such as littering, flooding sewers when it rains; spitting in public places; shining headlights while driving, blinding oncoming drivers; honking indiscriminately... Don't think it's a small thing, let's change little by little to hope to build a civilized lifestyle when everyone raises awareness, knows how to pay attention to the safety of others, not just selfishly worrying about themselves.

Children look at the actions and words of adults and follow them. Don’t let your carelessness and bad habits affect your children. And don’t let the time come when we hear a comment saying “children are so understanding” while adults are not ashamed of their wrongdoings.
