'I felt like I was dreaming.'

Kim Chi made a hole-in-one at the 4th hole, a Par 3, measuring 148 yards (approximately 135 meters). Using a pitching wedge, she created a beautiful curve before the ball hit the ground and rolled into the hole.

" My feelings after watching the ball roll into the hole were indescribable. I was both happy and euphoric, like I was dreaming. It was a 148-yard shot, with a slight tailwind from the right. I used my pitching club, and the ball flew quite high. Looking at the ball's trajectory, I thought it would just land near the flag, but unexpectedly, the ball rolled a few times and went into the hole ," Kim Chi shared emotionally.

With this achievement, Kim Chi became the first athlete to score a Hole-in-one at this year's National Golf Championship. Previously, at the 2022 National Golf Championship at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong , Le Chuc An and Nguyen Huy Thang both scored a Hole-in-one at the 17th hole.

Pham Thi Kim Chi, born in 1997, is the older sister of former national team player Pham Thi Yen Vi and the daughter of golf coach Nguyen Thi Thu Ha. After completing hole number 4, Kim Chi is temporarily in the top 10 of the second day of competition. In the first round, Dang Minh leads the men's bảng with a score of -6. Le Chuc An and Nguyen Thao My share the top spot in the women's bảng with 75 strokes (+3).

After today's competition on August 9th, the organizers will select 40 male athletes and 12 female athletes to advance to the next round.

The 2023 National Golf Championship is taking place in Hai Phong city from August 8-11. 154 of the best athletes from across the country are participating. The total prize money for the men's category is 1 billion VND, while for the women's category it is 200 million VND.
