At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy, respect, admiration and appreciation for the great achievements and contributions of comrade generals and heroes of the People's Armed Forces in the cause of national liberation and reunification, and in building and defending the Fatherland.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the generals and heroes of the People's Armed Forces who participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign were representatives of a heroic generation of a heroic nation, admired, respected and revered by friends around the world; regardless of their positions, they always demonstrated the mettle, intelligence, talent and enthusiasm of revolutionary soldiers, dedicating and sacrificing themselves for the glorious revolutionary cause of our Party and people.

General Secretary To Lam also summarized the achievements of the entire Party, people and army after 50 years of national reunification and nearly 40 years of renovation, under the Party's leadership in the fields of economics, politics, culture, foreign affairs, national defense and security.

The most important breakthrough is the arrangement of the political system's apparatus to be streamlined, strong, efficient, effective, and efficient based on the summary of Resolution No. 18 dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Central Executive Committee with the spirit of "running while lining up", not being perfectionist, but also not being hasty, and not allowing work to be interrupted.

The new organizational model must be better and more effective than the old model, with methodical steps and roadmaps, in accordance with the principles, Party Charter and Central Committee's guidelines. Performing well the functions of the combat army, the working army, the production labor army, the army coordinates with the police to promptly be present on the front line, in key areas to help people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, build new rural areas, prevent and combat natural disasters, incidents, search and rescue, for the peaceful and happy life of the people.

Typically, during the Covid-19 pandemic and super typhoon Yagi, hundreds of thousands of military officers, soldiers, militia and police have not been afraid of hardships and dangers to promptly save people's lives and property, help people restore production and stabilize their lives; are highly respected, admired and appreciated by the Party, State, local Party committees and authorities and the people; shining the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, people's police soldiers in the new era.

In performing the tasks of participating in UN peacekeeping, overcoming earthquake disasters in Türkiye, Myanmar and many other important foreign defense and security tasks, military and police officers and soldiers left a good impression on international friends, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of the military, police and the country in the international arena.

General Secretary To Lam outlines some orientations for national development

Regarding some orientations for national development in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam pointed out: Firstly, it is necessary to continue to strongly innovate leadership methods, improve leadership capacity and governing capacity, ensuring that the Party is the great helmsman, leading our nation forward strongly.

Second, strengthen the building and completion of the socialist rule of law state of the people, by the people, for the people.

Third, continue to promote the revolution of streamlining the political system apparatus according to the direction of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat in Conclusion No. 121 on summarizing Resolution No. 18 of the 12th Party Central Committee; Conclusion No. 126 on a number of contents and tasks to continue to arrange and streamline the political system apparatus in 2025; Conclusion No. 127 on implementing research and proposing to continue to arrange the political system apparatus.

Fourth, developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation is not only an inevitable trend, but also an urgent requirement for Vietnam to narrow the development gap with the region and the world, opening up opportunities to improve labor productivity and improve the quality of life for all classes of people. By 2025, strive for an economic growth rate of 8% or more and double digits in the period 2026 - 2030. This requires comprehensive implementation of solutions, great political determination, drastic actions, maximum liberation of resources among the people, the business community and the whole society; need to thoroughly understand the role of the private economy as the leading important growth driver of the country, eliminate prejudices, and not be afraid that the development of the private economy will deviate from socialism...

At the same time, closely link the economic growth target with the effective implementation of social security care goals and improving people's lives.
