Former Vietnam - Japan Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro informed about the activities implemented in Vietnam, including support for improving school facilities, screening, and prevention of hepatitis in Yen Bai province.

The General Secretary appreciated the generosity of the former Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador for his humanitarian support activities in Vietnam. Among them, he called for, supported and used his personal money to donate a total of nearly 20 million USD to help overcome the consequences of natural disasters over the past many years as well as adopting more than 200 disadvantaged Vietnamese children.
The General Secretary asked former Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro to continue to pay attention and actively contribute to the implementation of humanitarian activities in healthcare and education in remote areas of Vietnam; support Vietnam in promoting its tourism image through media channels in Japan; continue traditional cultural exchange programs; support and assist the Vietnamese community in Japan...
President Luong Cuong highly appreciated and sincerely thanked the Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador for his active and tireless contributions to the friendly relations between the two countries.
The President affirmed that the success of the Vietnam-Japan relationship today is thanks to the efforts and cultivation of generations of leaders of the two countries, including the great contributions of Mr. Sugi Ryotaro himself.
Mr. Sugi Ryotaro shared that he always has very special feelings for the country and people of Vietnam and makes constant efforts to foster and strengthen the relationship between the two nations.

Mr. Sugi Ryotaro informed about the programs and projects supporting Vietnamese people in mountainous, remote and isolated areas, including the project to build and repair dormitories for a primary and secondary school in Yen Bai province. In addition, he also supported Nghia Lo General Hospital in the program of free examination and screening for people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for liver-related diseases.
The former Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador proposed the idea of establishing an orchestra for visually impaired children at Nguyen Dinh Chieu School, a school he has supported for the past 30 years.
Appreciating the long-standing cultural traditions and unique landscapes of Vietnam, Mr. Sugi Ryotaro wishes to contribute to further promoting cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
Touched by the sentiments and noble gesture of Mr. Sugi Ryotaro, the President affirmed that the Vietnamese State always supports and creates favorable conditions for him to implement charity projects in Vietnam.
Many Vietnamese people, although they have not met him, have known and been moved by the noble deeds of Mr. Sugi Ryotaro.
