Vietnam National Administration of Tourism launches new communication channel on Viber application

Information from the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) on June 22 said that the unit has launched a new generation interactive messaging channel on the Viber application to bring tourists new and attractive experiences.

Now, tourists have another reputable and attractive information channel to explore Vietnam tourism , "pocketing" many useful travel experiences. This is also the first time the General Department of Tourism has applied the Rich Business Message (RBM) platform - a new generation of interactive multi-channel messaging on the OTT platform.

The Viber account of the General Department of Tourism will send messages with suggestions about interesting destinations and tourist activities for this year's summer travel season.

Tourists can choose to relax on the island, explore the majestic natural landscape of mountains and forests, or visit ancient cities to experience the unique indigenous culture.

The journey of discovery will take visitors to famous destinations such as Ha Long, Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Ha Giang, Sa Pa, Da Lat, Hanoi, Hoi An, Hue...

The Viber account of the General Department of Tourism is authenticated with a green check mark. Each message will be displayed with many vivid frames in a message interface, providing interactive buttons and automatic replies.

Users can interact in two ways, learn more information, images, choose to watch videos or access the website of the General Department of Tourism through simple and convenient operations.

Previously, the General Department of Tourism also established communication channels on many social networks such as Zalo, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram..., contributing to demonstrating a strong determination in applying digital transformation and information technology in promoting Vietnamese tourism.

In particular, the Zalo channel of the General Department of Tourism was launched in February 2020 when the COVID-19 epidemic was complicated. This Zalo channel has continuously updated the epidemic situation, instructions from the Government, Ministries, branches, instructions from the health sector, and response activities of the tourism industry.

In just a short time, the Zalo channel of the General Department of Tourism received the attention and high appreciation of a large number of users, views and daily news subscriptions, the highest news sharing rate was up to over 30%.

Currently, the online communication channels of the General Department of Tourism continuously update the Party and State's policies on tourism development, update the activities of the General Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; introduce many attractive destinations, new products and services, tourism promotion programs, and upcoming tourism events.

It can be said that the communication channels of the General Department of Tourism on social networking platforms have been contributing to providing official, reliable and fast sources of information to localities, businesses, people and tourists.

This is also an action affirming the strong determination of the General Department of Tourism in promoting the application of digital technology to support tourism management and development./.
