The General Department of Logistics and Engineering has many units directly managing and repairing weapons and technical equipment, and manufacturing defense products. In each unit, there are many types of labor, high-intensity activities, high risks of unsafety, especially in the management, storage, and handling of weapons and technical equipment, especially ammunition, and in some industries with heavy, toxic, and dangerous factors such as: Petroleum, military weapons, military medicine, road and waterway vehicles and motorbikes, mechanics, textiles, etc.

Fully aware of that problem, the leaders and commanders of the General Department regularly lead and direct agencies and units, together with trade unions at all levels in the General Department, to do a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of cadres, employees, soldiers, workers and union members.

Maintain and strictly implement procedures, regulations and laws on occupational safety and hygiene; fire and explosion prevention and control; occupational disease prevention and control with many appropriate contents and measures. Take care to improve working conditions, control dangerous and toxic factors, ensure standards and regimes on occupational safety and hygiene, proactively and effectively prevent occupational accidents and diseases.

In his speech, Major General Phung Ngoc Son, Deputy Director, Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics and Technology, requested agencies and units in the entire General Department to continue to improve the content and quality of technical training and safe working skills for those directly managing and exploiting technical equipment. Organize and strictly control technical equipment, especially ammunition, explosives, and hazardous toxic chemicals; select, isolate, and thoroughly handle types that pose a risk of causing unsafety. Warehouses storing technical equipment must be regularly and continuously inspected for safety, fire prevention, and strictly manage the quantity and quality of technical equipment.

For heavy, toxic, dangerous jobs, jobs performed at heights, in confined spaces, etc., working conditions must be regularly monitored and inspected to ensure strict compliance with regulations. Focus on improving the working environment and conditions. Implement well the work of monitoring the working environment, detecting and detecting diseases, periodic examinations, and occupational disease assessments.
