General Department of Hydrometeorology becomes Department, reducing 6 units

(Dan Tri) - After being reorganized and consolidated into the Department of Hydrometeorology, the General Department of Hydrometeorology has reduced 6 units; Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hien is the director.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy has just signed Decision No. 35/QD regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Department of Hydrometeorology.

The Department of Hydrometeorology performs the function of advising the Minister on state management and organizing the enforcement of laws on hydrometeorology nationwide; managing and organizing the implementation of public service activities within the scope of the department's management.

The Department of Hydrometeorology consists of 13 units (6 units less than the previous General Department of Hydrometeorology), including: 1- Department of Forecasting and Information Management, Hydrometeorological Data; 2- Department of Hydrometeorological Network Management; 3- Department of Science , Technology and International Cooperation; 4- Department of Planning and Finance; 5- Department of Organization and Personnel; 6- Office;

7- Center for Hydro-Meteorological Observation Techniques; 8- Center for Hydro-Meteorological Information and Data; 9- National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting; 10- Center for Hydro-Meteorological Investigation, Technology and Services; 11- Northern Hydro-Meteorological Station; 12- Central Hydro-Meteorological Station; 13- Southern and Central Highlands Hydro-Meteorological Station.

The Department of Hydrometeorology has a Director and no more than 3 Deputy Directors. The Director of the Department of Hydrometeorology is assigned to submit to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment regulations on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the public service units under the Department.

Decision No. 35/QD clearly states that public service units under the General Department of Hydrometeorology (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) as prescribed in Article 3 of Decision No. 10/2023 of the Prime Minister stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the General Department of Hydrometeorology continue to operate according to current regulations.

The Journal of Hydrometeorology will continue to operate until the competent authority issues a decision to reorganize and consolidate this journal.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hien, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, was appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Hydrometeorology (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) from March 1.
