On March 19, 2025, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut chaired a reception for Mr. Firdauz Bin Othman, Consul General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City for a courtesy visit.
At the reception, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut respectfully thanked Mr. Firdauz Bin Othman for his visit; at the same time, he gave an overview of the province's socio -economic development situation in recent years. With an open and attractive investment environment, in recent years, Long An has always been one of the leading provinces and cities in the country in attracting foreign direct investment with nearly 1,400 FDI enterprises registered to operate. Of which, Malaysia has 14 investment projects in the province with a total registered capital of more than 165 million USD. The main investment fields are metal and plastic processing, precision mechanics, packaging, food, cold storage, etc.
The Malaysian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City thanked the provincial leaders for receiving the delegation and expressed his impression of the results that Long An province has achieved in socio-economic development in recent times. In particular, the province's favorable investment environment is a destination of interest and choice for many Malaysian investors. He hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education and cultural exchange.
