Consul General of Vietnam in Busan Doan Phuong Lan presented the Letter of Credentials and worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea.

The Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that it will closely cooperate and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan to perform its tasks well.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan presented the Consular Credential Letter of the Vietnamese Foreign Minister to Director of the Protocol Department of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kwon Jae Hwan.

On the afternoon of June 5, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Vietnamese Consul General in Busan city Doan Phuong Lan met with Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Kwon Jae Hwan, presenting the Letter of Credence from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

At the meeting, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan expressed her honor to be appointed as the first Consul General of Vietnam in Busan, South Korea at a time when Vietnam-South Korea relations are developing very well; cooperation between the two countries in all areas is developing substantially and effectively and there is still much room for deepening cooperation.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan requested the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan to soon fully perform its functions and coordinate in the activities of the Consulate General in the coming time.

Ms. Doan Phuong Lan affirmed that with the dynamic development and important role of Busan city and the southern localities of Korea in trade, investment, science and technology, culture and tourism, in addition to the priority tasks of community work, citizen protection, consular affairs, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan will focus on promoting economic cooperation, harmoniously combining the development strengths of Korea and the growth potential of Vietnam.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan works with Director of the Southeast Asia and ASEAN Department of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lee Dong Gi.

On the same afternoon, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan met with Director of the Southeast Asia and ASEAN Department Lee Dong Gi and Director of the Consular Department Yoon Chu Sok of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho attended these meetings.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea welcomed and highly appreciated Vietnam's decision to establish the Consulate General of Vietnam in Busan city, considering this a testament to the extensive and substantial development of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; affirmed to cooperate closely and create favorable conditions for the Consulate General of Vietnam in Busan city to perform well its task as a bridge between the Vietnamese community and the southern localities of Korea, contributing to promoting the friendly relations between the two countries.
